The Union County Election Commission meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 8:30 am. at the Union County Courthouse, Suite 108.
Purpose: To conduct an election business that comes before the commission pursuant to its duties listed in, but not limited to, TCA §2-12-116, and to conduct any other business that may come before the election commission at that time. The Election Commission office is located in the Courthouse at 901 Main Street, Suite 108 Maynardville TN 37807.
Office Hours: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday through Friday
PUBLIC COMMENTS POLICY
- The period for public comment will be listed as the first item on the agenda since the new law states that the purpose of the period is to provide the public with the opportunity to comment on matters that are germane to items on the agenda.
- The Commission shall allow a maximum of one (1) person per organization of people to speak during the public comment period. The Election Commission will take all practicable steps to ensure that opposing viewpoints are represented fairly including giving each view point an equal number of speakers, if any.
- The Commission will provide each person with a maximum of three (3) minutes to speak during the public comment period.
- Advance notice of three (3) days prior to any meeting is required to be placed on the on the Public Comments List. To do so, please contact Administrator of Elections, Candy Booker, at 865-992-3471 during normal business hours
